Product Description
- Universal Electrical Panel Lockout (ES-UPDL-01-C06) is supplied with a 6-inch vinyl-coated steel cable. The cable is not sold as a separate part.
- One end is attached permanently to the device plate; the free end carries a single loop that takes the padlock.
- Six inches suits offset handles, short door-to-side-wall returns, and lock points sitting just beyond the reach of the rigid device.
- Used when the mounting face and the lock point are not in the same place, or not on the same plane.
- Factory-attached, so there is no field-made joint to become the weak link in the lockout.
- The vinyl coating protects the panel finish and shields the steel core from corrosion.
- Cutting the cable calls for bolt cutters or metal-cutting tools, not hand tools.
- The plates fit like the standard device: adhesive in seconds, or riveted through two holes per plate.
- Riveting makes holes in the enclosure – check the effect on the IP or NEMA rating first.
- Adhesive reaches full strength in about 24 hours and cannot then be pulled off by hand.
- Fitted from outside the panel, so the installer is not exposed to live parts.
- Takes one padlock for a single worker, or a lockout hasp so up to six can each fit their own.
- The breaker or disconnect inside remains the energy isolating device. This assembly holds the door closed over it.
- Standard colour is Red. Rated for indoor and outdoor use.
- Designed to support compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(5)(ii).
- The door serves as the lockout point only where the switch cannot be operated with the door shut, the door is the only way in, and absence of voltage has been verified under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147(d)(6).
- Also available in the other two lengths (9” and 12”), with any length made to order, and without the cable (ES-UPDL-01).
- Padlocks, hasps and replacement tape sets are ordered separately.
